Introducing, JASPELD™. JASPELD™ the Elephant, a commissioned art piece, will be an 8x8 foot sculpture to be located in the outdoor courtyard at 3i HoME’s totally accessible building of 51 apartments (named Sturgeon Place) being constructed at The Downs in Scarborough, Maine. Why JASPELD™?
3i HoME was founded by Paul Linet in order to further advance work in which his late wife was involved. Susan Linet, MD, was a community activist advocating for changes in Maine’s home and community based system for people eligible for long term services and support. Susan and her family are the ‘why’ behind 3i Housing of Maine and specifically our first project at The Downs. A few of the things Susan loved were her career as a pediatrician, her family and the color purple. These massive creatures are loyal, powerful, highly intelligent and compassionate. They are considered to be one of the world’s most empathic species – much like humans. JASPELD™ stands for “Jerrold, Ariel/Andrew, Susan/Sarah, Paul/Phoebe, Ellen, Lily, David, Dan and Dylan” - all of Susan’s immediate family. Help JASPELD™ Become a Reality
We are currently working with a Massachusetts based metal sculptor on final design attributes so that JASPELD™ will become a permanent and impactful art piece at Sturgeon Place. We are currently working to raise $35,000 to fund JASPELD™. Your donation will directly fund this impactful art piece for residents at Sturgeon Place, for visitors to the Town Center at The Downs, and for those local organizations who will be participating in educational programming built around the themes of inclusion, environmental awareness and community engagement.
