Check out this cool video I took when I was in China last month.. It is an injection molding machine that is making leafs for plastic plants .. Pretty neat huh ? But that is not why I am showing you this ...
The reason is , last time I was in this area where we make some of our machines this company was making cranes and some clip games . Same name of the company just making leafs now .
This is so common in China . The factories chase the next hottest thing. Yesterday it was cranes and clip games and today it is leafs.
When you are talking to someone you dont know and they say or show on their website they have been in business since 1999 or longer and have done 10 million US dollars in business , this might be true but ..... maybe they were making brooms before and then cat toys and then cranes and then .... You dont really know . ( I did see a broom company one time that was making cranes too )
Support is what you want but if they are making leafs today do you really think you are going to get them to sell you a new computer or a plastic part or give you any tech help when you need it in a few months or a few years .
There are no laws in China where they have to support your for so many years , they just move on and leave you holding the bag .
If I had to make an educated guess I would say that 90 percent of the companies I knew from 10 years ago are gone . I would say that 50 percent of the companies I knew 5 years ago are gone . I would also say they 50 percent of more of the companies from each and every game trade show I have seen are done in less then 6 months ..just gone .. You can ask around and see if my numbers are legit.
I could write much more but if customers are ok with disposable games with poor or non existent support then keep buying from Ali and the others and posting to the groups hoping for advice and tec help that might not ever come.
On the next episode we'll talk about are you really buying from a factory or just an agent / rep that tells you they are a real factory ..
