If glistening meadows of buttercups feel magical to you, the Celts understand why. They believed buttercups marked where the Sìth (faeries) danced and napped.

But there's another kind of magic to buttercups—they're heliotropic, meaning they always scope towards the sun. And they're survivors, having first appeared on this planet millions, yes *millions*, of years ago.

The mirror-like shine of buttercups cleverly attract pollinators, helping them find these golden beauties from greater distances.

Before we over-romanticize buttercups, they have defenses just like all of nature. Their blooms are toxic (don't eat them!) and can cause itchiness.

These little flowers remind us that life is never one-dimensional. Paradoxes abound and that's what makes this world we live in endlessly compelling.
