Did you know that while the Boots & Roots Rodeo is the Chamber's biggest event of the year, it also helps to support our local Seminole County youth? Since the rodeo kicked off in 2016, the Chamber has proudly given back over $40,000 over 10 years to support amazing youth groups throughout our community!
Every year, a portion of rodeo ticket sales is given to several local youth groups who volunteer throughout the weekend of the rodeo. This year we were proud to partner with the Seminole County 4-H, Boy Scouts Troop 700, Friendship House of Jesus, Seminole County Chorus, and students from the CTI program at Seminole County High School.
If you were sitting on the bleachers, Seminole Co. CTI students helped set them up. If you bought a rodeo t-shirt, you bought it from a 4H student. When you came through the gates to park, the Boy Scouts and Seminole County Chorus group were the ones directing you to the correct parking area. If your trash ended up on the ground, it was cleaned up by 2-3 of these groups. And, if you pay attention to the arena banners next year at the rodeo, they will be squeaky clean thanks to the Friendship House of Jesus students.
Anything from parking to ticket and t-shirt sales, & trash pickup, these kids do it all! One of the Chamber’s favorite parts about the Boots & Roots Rodeo is that while it is a Chamber event, it also helps to support our local Seminole County youth. We absolutely love collaborating with these youth groups each year and could not have such a successful event without them!!
