Friends, we have some bittersweet news. It is with heavy hearts that Erica and I are sharing our decision to leave Savannah, our home for the past nine years. Erica recently accepted an offer for a great opportunity in Nashville and our house is officially on the market. We will be fully relocated before the end of February.
Words fail to describe how special Savannah is to both of us. It is the place we chose to intertwine our romantic and musical lives, where we expanded our happy family of dogs, where we enjoyed the perfect backdrop to our wedding, and where we have made so many lifelong friends.
Last year, we began the long-overdue process of recording an album of songs that were written almost entirely during our time in Savannah. Unfortunately, the project has been on pause due to these other events taking precedence and it won’t be ready to share before we leave. We are still hoping to have it completed later this year, as a belated farewell to share with friends.
I will always contend that Savannah is the most charming place that anyone could find themselves. If there is a more beautifully unique area of this country, I’d honestly rather not know about it. We happened to be just young and lucky enough to pick Savannah on a map, fall in love with it, and move here on a whim that worked out better than we even imagined. Honestly, not long ago, neither one of us thought we would ever leave, but life had other plans. That said, we are looking forward to the new adventure of living in a larger metro and to enjoying the accompanying overflow of arts and culture.
Spanish moss, cobblestones, and Johnny Mercer tunes will always have a special place in our hearts. We are forever grateful for you taking us in and being our hostess.
