Sea salt is a must-have cooking staple, but the benefits of natural salts go beyond their versatility in the kitchen. According to experts, sea salt minerals like potassium, magnesium, and calcium all harmonize beautifully to reduce inflammation, brighten, and even strengthen the skin. And besides sea salt, everything you need for beautiful and healthy skin, hair and nails can be found in local and sustainably sourced ingredients used in the products made by Salacia Salts right here in Savannah. Call for Artists to RENEW THE PEW!
CorkHouse is inviting artists of all paintable media to submit proposals for the Renew the Pew Project as part of our first 'Make Art Your Own’ monthly Saturday event at CorkHouse on March 19. Our goal is to transform a pair of old church pews into works of art that are also comfortable and safe to sit on. Use of sustainable creative materials is the only requirement other than your imagination.
The renewed pews will be on display in our new multipurpose Annex Gallery/Workshop space at CorkHouse Savannah. Selected artists will be given the opportunity to exhibit other original artwork in our main gallery at a future date.
Submissions are due by Sunday March 13 for the initial paint date on Saturday March 19. Selected artists will be scheduled to paint and simultaneously demonstrate their process/aesthetic to visitors and workshop participants. Artist Onsite painting schedule is flexible until the project is completed, but must include working during the day of the event between 10 am and 7 pm.
Please email inquiries and proposal submissions, along with a link to your website/bio to: [email protected]. You can also stop by anytime during regular store hours to view the pews, then let imagination and inspiration go from there.
