Happy Father’s Day, Dad.
Not a day goes by that I don’t think about you and miss you.
You were the kind of father every child deserves. You worked all day at the Post Office, then came home and went right back to work in the upholstery shop behind our house just to make sure your family had what they needed. Looking back now, I realize how many sacrifices you made that we never even knew about.
You served your country as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War, but what I admire most is how faithfully you served your family. You made sure we were in church every time the doors were open. You led by example, not by words. I never heard you say a curse word, and I never saw you take a drink. You lived with integrity, humility, and strength.
I miss your sense of humor. I miss the vacations you took us on. I miss the conversations we can no longer have. Most of all, I miss you.
The older I get, the more I understand what a remarkable man you were and how blessed I was to call you my father.
Thank you for your love, your sacrifices, your example, and your faith.
Until we meet again, I love you, Dad.
Happy Father’s Day.

Hard Road Revival Update

I’ve had mixed emotions about this, but I’ve decided to make some changes to the Hard Road Revival catalog.

Some of my earlier albums were written from very personal places — things I lived through, things I lost, things I struggled with, and things I carried for many years. Those songs meant a lot to me, and they always will.

But I’ve also grown. My writing has grown. My ear has grown. The sound of Hard Road Revival has grown.

After going back and listening, I’ve decided that some of the older releases no longer represent the music the way I want them to. So I’ll be retiring a few of them for now. The songs that still have heart may come back later as new studio versions, rebuilt with more care and a stronger sound.

This is bittersweet, but it feels right.

Hard Road Revival has always been about the hard roads in life — faith, loss, love, failure, forgiveness, and getting back up again. That part has not changed.

Thank you to those who have listened. I hope the next chapter reaches even deeper.
