I am always filled with gratitude for the people that admire my art, as well as for the folks who are able to invest in a piece to take home.

I am also very fond of the person that regularly comes into the gallery to buy my cards, made with images of my art. He was in the other day, and he’s usually shopping for a sympathy card. He laughed this time and said that THIS time it was for a happy occasion! These human connections are very real.

It has been a good summer in our local art world, and our town’s reputation as a place to come for the day to “do the galleries” is growing. That has a positive impact on all the businesses, restaurants, coffee shops and local sweet shops. It didn’t happen in a vacuum.

It’s also wonderful to know that a very talented group of young artists are among us—part of the present and definitely our future. They are part of our plein air “tribe” and that group is like an extended family, but with very similar interests and focus. All so much fun.

There are another couple of regional plein air festivals to go. We go out and feel the chill in the air and revel in jackets and the brilliant autumn colors. After that, we finally unload our car studios and take stock, take a bit of a breather (sort of) and find that studio time is at hand.

For those of you who follow my page, thank you!! You are all so appreciated!

For those of you who have “adopted” some of my pieces and given them their forever home, thank you, too. Just in the last week, these two pieces have found their places—a watercolor of the McKenzie Mountain Range as seen from the local Fish & Gun Club, and “Past and Present” a piece commemorating the splendid urban architecture of a place that formerly employed a lot of local folks. That place is now being turned into affordable housing, so it will be supporting the community once again.

Art lives on. Grab a pencil, paper, and some paint and brushes and get out there!inesses up and down the street and for the restaurants,
