i get this question asked about once as week: why are you assisting when you have your own license? and the answer, well there’s a few reasons⤵️

✖️ why not ? furthering your education is never a negative in my book. in this industry the second you really never should stop trying to learn new tips, trends, and techniques.

✖️ beauty school is great. they teach you to pass state board and to be extremely sanitary. HOWEVER, they don’t teach you BOOO about the perfect bayalage or color correction or toner formulation, etc. when assisting, you learn what real life in the salon is like and how the artist you are assisting walks through every motion.

✖️ it’s a really nice transition going from school to the salon. getting to meet the other stylist, the way of the salon, the area and so much more before walking in your first day !

exactly a year ago today i got my license... it feels like a life time ago. it sorta was. this was 2 1/2 months before ms rona hit. it’s been a crazy, wild ride and it’s only been a year! in this year i’ve been so fortunate to work under and i cannot thank her enough for the education she strives to give me during this madness. that being said i can’t wait to make all of you feel beautiful soon ✨
