The Funky Hippeez Show The Worlds Grooviest Live Disco Show is being revamped to create a new thematic experience!

Why we are bypassing mainstream streaming platforms, reclaiming our intellectual property, and proving that LIVE MUSIC MATTERS. 🧵⬇️

In 1995, The Funk Hippeez established a weekly Friday night residency at the iconic West End in Santa Monica. The nights became so consistently packed that major record label A&R executives began flooding our shows, asking a defining question: Do you play original music, or just covers?

That was the catalyst. My co-writer/original drummer Nyle Girgis and I set out to see if we could capture that lightning in a bottle and produce original disco music for the group. The result was our first original track, "FOXY MAMMA" (2006), which went on to secure major Hollywood sync placements in the Focus Film' Something New, the Barbershop 2 radio trailers, and Desperate Housewives Promotional DVD.

Now, two decades later, that creative brotherhood has re-ignited for only our second original song in a 20-year span. For us, it has always been about quality over quantity.

We have just finalized the 30-second teaser for this rare independent production: "I LIKE IT (Keep Rollin)"—a complete, modern disco reimagining of an original track we built back in 2004 for our Electronica project, Staaarchild. When we tracked the vocals, Nyle had me lean heavily into a Michael Jackson vocal styling. With the current global resurgence of interest in MJ's legacy, the sonic timing couldn't be better.

But this release represents something much larger than a single song. It is the cornerstone of our movement: LIVE MUSIC MATTERS.

THE REVIVAL OF DISCO & FUNK 🕺🏽✨
Mainstream music has largely traded raw musicianship for algorithms and programmed loops. With THE FUNKY HIPPEEZ SHOW, we are actively bringing back the golden era of live, organic 70s and 80s Disco & Funk.

THE BANDCAMP REVOLUTION 🎚️
Because we believe in the value of the independent craft, we are completely bypassing mainstream corporate streaming platforms.

Starting with this track, all future releases will live exclusively on our official Bandcamp page https://thefunkyhippeezshow.bandcamp.com/ and at our live performances.

If you value independent artistry, true musical heritage, and the preservation of real live performance, you support it directly at the source. No algorithms, no corporate streaming structures—just premium music for true fans.

We are world-premiering the groove live this Thursday, May 21st, for the Palm Desert Concert Series.

Check out the teaser below, and let's get back to valuing real music. 🎥👇🏽

DISCO IS COMING TO THE DESERT 💥🕺🏽

Turn your volume UP and read this, because the history behind this track runs deep. 🔊

We just finished cutting the official 30-second teaser for the new version of our single: "I LIKE IT (Keep Rollin)"! Listen to how those cinematic strings build the tension before dropping straight into that funky disco groove. 🎻🔥

GET DOWN WITH SOME MJ VIBES 👑✨
When we originally began recording this track, our drummer Nyle Girgis explicitly asked me to lean heavily into my Michael Jackson vocal styling. With the massive global release of the new Michael Jackson biopic sparking a huge resurgence of his music and life everywhere right now, the timing couldn't be more perfect. This performance channels that raw, signature MJ energy, vocal precision, and infectious pop-funk drive that makes you want to move.

A 20-YEAR CREATIVE BROTHERHOOD 🥁
Nyle was the original drummer of The Funky Hippeez - The World's Grooviest Live Disco Show back in the 90s and the visionary who first initiated writing original disco music for the group. In 2006, we co-wrote "FOXY MAMMA"—a track that went on to get major Hollywood placements in the focus film Something New, the Barbershop 2 radio trailers, and the Desperate Housewives promotional DVD.

But our history goes even further. The last original project we built together was Staaarchild back in 2004, which had multiple songs placed in TV and movies before the project was disbanded.

"I LIKE IT (Keep Rollin)" is a complete, reimagined cover of an original track we wrote for Staaarchild, remade into a modern disco classic for The Funky Hippeez Show. Reconnecting and collaborating with Nyle on this has brought a massive surge of life and inspiration back into our creative brotherhood. Nyle produced and played all the instruments on this new version. He is currently putting the final touches on the mix, testing out a brilliant new bridge featuring the incredible vocals of Heidi Allyce (from our group DISCO DIVA)!

THE BANDCAMP REVOLUTION 🎚️
Because this music lives at the intersection of decades of history, brotherhood, and true artistic legacy, we are doing things differently. We are NOT releasing this song on mainstream streaming platforms.

Starting with this track, all future releases will live exclusively on our official Bandcamp page. If you want to experience the music, you can either support the craft directly by purchasing a copy from the source, or come groove with us live. No algorithms, no corporate streaming structures—just real music for true fans.

Sharing our W**d Love Song for 420. This was a fun remake featuring Popcorn's Barry White alter-ego, and Foxy Jamila Caro on lead vocals. Brian Klock on Sax. Special thanks to Hayley Hersh and Wes Styles for the playing, production and mixing. Enjoy

A comical dance remix of a classic Barry White song turned into a love song about W**d. Starts off slow and sexy then goes double-time to turn into a Disco House track. A new song and production that
