Church, Golden, NM.

Today our in field photo workshop is exploring NM Highway 14, the Turquoise Trail. This church will be our starting point. I’ve always loved photographing the church and its surrounding cemetery. It is truly iconic New Mexico.

Our workshop will take next week off for the holiday, and resume the following week with a trip out to a different section of the Bisti Badlands. The other July trips will include a ghost town tour of Encino, Vaughn, and Cuervo; and The Chama Railyard, Abiquiu and Plaza Blanco. Feel free to sign up for any or all of them through my website; we can still accommodate 2-3 other participants.

Recently came across this image that I captured a few years ago; that somehow has never seen the light of day. My bad.

Bisti is one of my most favorite places to photograph. I've been documenting the area for many, many years.

My B&W film photography workshop students will coming here with me for a full day in field. We will also be going to Ghost Towns, Chama, Turquoise Trail... over the next 6 weeks.

Join us for an incredible day out in the field!
