The Hillbilly Hangout is a "not for money" establishment. we
don't sell anything. There is no admission charge. Currently, The HBH is open for music on Thursday evenings from 6pm-until. This is NOT an open jam session. This is all about the quality of the music. Our standard thursday evening itinerary goes something like this:
6-7pm- arrivals and welcome, social hour, some light jamming
This ev
ent is POTLUCK style: Please bring a dish to share; we have a kitchen available for keeping warm and outlets for crock pots, etc. Further explaination about this venue and how you might participate:
1) If you are a music lover and just want to come listen and enjoy the music and fellowship, thats great! We welcome you! Come early at 6pm and enjoy what food may be available.
2) If you're and individual musician (guitar, banjo, etc.) and you just wish to pick a little, come and join in a sideline jam. You may have the opportunity to join in a band/group going on stage for a few songs. We welcome any fellow musicians.
3) If you're a band; we want to highlight your talent. Feel free to e-mail me your availability for future Thursday nights and I will see that you get on the schedule for a 45 minute set. You can "just show up" but, we may have a full schedule for that night. We prefer to schedule with your band in order to give you quality time on sage. Again, we wish to focus on quality music fr our spectator friends and musicians alike. whether you're a listener, pciker or an accomplished band, we'd like to welcome you out to "the Hillbilly Hangout". We are young in the music scene and are learning as we go. We reserve the right to change our format and/or procedures if it is for the better of the music. Remember, it's all about the music! Coming from Raleigh on #1: Driving south on Hwy 1, continue thru the tramway light (hardees on left and walgreens on right). The stoplight past tramway is Hickory House rd. Turn Left here! We are about 2 miles on the left, look for our signs.
