This rustic log cabin is a remote dwelling located in the Nenana area of Alaska, along the Teklanika River.

The cabin is part of a 4-acre homestead that was originally constructed around 1990. It features traditional Alaskan-style heavy log construction, often preserved with log oil to protect the wood from the harsh environment. Such structures are frequently used for off-grid living, wilderness retreats, or as base camps for winter excursions like dog sledding.

Excuse me if this is a dumb post. New to this as this is our first year living somewhere where we have a wood fire furnace (dual propane/wood) we have a great supply of trees that are already here on the property ready to be cut down into appropriate size logs. But in the coming years we will need to start harvesting our own trees and cutting them down… what do you use to haul the trees out? Chainsaw them down in the woods and haul into your pickup?
