Marin County United Veterans Council

Marin County United Veterans Council Supporting our military veterans in Marin County. Our heroes will not be forgotten. Marin County is home to about 11,000 military veterans.

The council is a forum for all local veterans organizations and other supportive individuals to get together to discuss veterans issues, collectively support fundraisers for veterans, and plan patriotic events. We have reps from American Legion, VFW, VVA, MOAA, Blue Star Moms and other groups that send reps regularly to our meetings. The gatherings start at 5 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each mo

nth in a conference room behind Marin Center (10 Avenue of the Flags, San Rafael CA). Access to the room is from the back parking lot where the Marin County Cultural Services Department is located and the Bartolini Gallery. Contact Council President Glenn Ross at [email protected] for more info.

Our Memorial Day guest speaker, Army Master Sergeant John Meholick, did an *incredible* job. Our crowd of about 800 people gave this Marin native a warm standing ovation, and there was a long line of people who wanted to shake his hand afterward.

Nice event preview. See ya next Monday.

🎨🇺🇸 Congratulations, Kate Wagers!

San Marin High School senior Kate Wagers has been named the local winner of the VFW Auxiliary Donald V. Westlund Post 7816 Patriotic Arts Contest for her outstanding artwork—and is advancing to the state level!

Kate’s piece reflects her belief that patriotism means loving the people who make up our country. Inspired by the history and contributions of immigrants, her artwork features a welcoming Statue of Liberty surrounded by the many journeys that bring people to America.

If selected at the state level, Kate will advance to nationals and compete for a share of $37,000 in awards.

This is the first year the Novato VFW Auxiliary has supported this contest—what an incredible achievement! 👏
