Marin County United Veterans Council Supporting our military veterans in Marin County. Our heroes will not be forgotten. Marin County is home to about 11,000 military veterans.

The council is a forum for all local veterans organizations and other supportive individuals to get together to discuss veterans issues, collectively support fundraisers for veterans, and plan patriotic events. We have reps from American Legion, VFW, VVA, MOAA, Blue Star Moms and other groups that send reps regularly to our meetings. The gatherings start at 5 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each mo

The "Purple Pig" is the affectionate name for the coin banks distributed to members of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE). It functions as the primary fundraising arm for the California-Hawaii Elks Association Major Project, Inc. (โ CHEMPI), which provides physical, occupational, and speech-language therapy, as well as pediatric vision screenings, to children with disabilities at absolutely no cost to their families.The funds raised go directly to employing dozens of professional therapists and vision screeners who travel to homes and schools, operating under the motto: "A coin a day so they can walk, talk, see, and play".
