☀️🌊 Sun, sand, smiles and a whole lot of appreciation! 🌊☀️

Ahead of McCarthy's annual Craft Appreciation Week, our SoCal partners headed to Newport Dunes for a day dedicated to the people who make it all happen; our incredible craft professionals and their families! 👷‍♀️👷‍♂️❤️

From building in the field to strengthening communities, our craft workforce is at the heart of everything we do. Their dedication to safety, quality and teamwork shows up on every project, every day — and we’re grateful for all they do!

So, we traded hard hats for beach chairs and spent the day soaking up the sun with plenty of friendly competition, delicious food, refreshing treats, face painting, great music and lots of laughs. 🏖️🎶🍔🎨

Because celebrating the people behind the work is always a good idea, and these hardworking craft professionals truly deserve it! 🙌

Here’s to our craft professionals and the families who support them. Thank you for all that you do!

Inside Matt Sauer’s office on the SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital jobsite, a diagram outlines the “Rules of the Sandbox.” Its eight core maxims establish clear expectations around accountability, trust, decision-making and conflict resolution across the entire team.

“Building culture is easier said than done, especially on a high-pressure, large-scale hospital site,” says Matt. “But we've built something pretty special here. You can feel it when you walk the job.”

Read our latest Partner Perspectives profile to learn how Matt went from working on his father's tree farm and nursery, to leading some of the most complex healthcare projects in the Midwest.

Our Johnson County, KS Government Myron K. Nelson Wastewater Treatment Facility is officially 60% complete!

Working alongside Black & Veatch, HDR, and GBA, our team is building the next generation of wastewater treatment for approximately 130,000 residents in northeast Johnson County.

The project is replacing the existing Nelson facility through a carefully phased process, keeping the plant operational as new portions come online. This approach allows the team to maintain critical wastewater treatment services throughout construction.

Senior Project Manager Cale George gives a behind-the-scenes look at how the team is navigating the complexities of this major project and what’s happening at the 60% milestone ➡️ https://ow.ly/QFl750ZA1Cr

McCarthy’s self-perform concrete team at the University of Nebraska at Omaha Biomechanics and Research Building Phase 3 project is moving full steam ahead. 👷

With 2,940 man hours so far, the team has poured 550 cubic yards of concrete and is tracking toward completing the footing and foundation walls at the end of August. This milestone will allow the er****on of structural steel followed by exterior wall construction, preparing the building for dry-in in January.

This 25,000-sf facility expansion is designed to advance biomechanics research, academic collaboration and future program growth. The project includes construction of a three-story addition connected to the existing building and represents the third phase of the facility’s development.

Stay tuned as we continue to make progress on this innovative facility. 🏗️
