My favorite part about being a wedding planner isn’t the linens, the timelines, or even the perfectly styled tables (though you know I love those 😉).
It’s watching two families become one.
There’s something incredibly powerful about witnessing parents who were once strangers hugging like old friends. Siblings laughing together. Grandparents wiping tears during vows. The merging of traditions, histories, and stories into something brand new.
That’s exactly why Megan & Kevin’s paebaek ceremony meant so much to me. The paebaek is a beautiful Korean wedding tradition where the couple honors the groom’s family through deep bows and a symbolic tea ceremony, often followed by the playful tossing of dates and chestnuts to represent future children and blessings.
Watching Megan step so gracefully into Kevin’s heritage, and seeing both families lean in with curiosity, respect, and joy — it was more than a ceremony. It was a bridge. A moment of “we’re yours now, and you’re ours.”
These are the moments that remind me why I do what I do. Not just to plan weddings… but to help create the space where families intertwine and legacies begin. 🤍
