“Jagat Janani” is a unique Bharatanatyam concert demonstrating the power of The Universal Mother. “Jagat Janani” is the result of collaborative and creative choreography of leading Bay Area dance schools - Shri Krupa Dance Company, Abhinaya Dance Company, Nrithyollasa Dance Academy, and Kala Vandana Dance Company.

Artistic directors and Gurus, Smt. Vishal Ramani, Smt. Mythili Kumar, Smt. Indumathy Ganesh, and Smt. Sundara Swaminathan along with their senior dancers have worked together the last three months to produce a scintillating masterpiece. This grand production was video-graphed in an outdoor theater by the highly skilled Anubhava.

Our heartfelt thanks to the artistic directors, the performers and our technical engineer/videographer Anubhava for producing this exemplary Bharatanatyam concert.

So far we had 8 girls participate - Saumya, Preethi, Supreetha, Harini, Saasha, Nish*ta, Aishni, Lekha.

Nish*ta, Harini, Lekha and Saumya learned Maharaja Swati Tirunal's composition - a beautiful sober Bhajan on Goddess Saraswathi - Jai Jai Devi Jai Jaga Janani Jai Jai Saraswathi Maayi ..... beautifully rendered in Yaman Kalyani by Smt. Amritha Murali sung for 8:05 mins.

Preethi, Supreetha, Saasha and Aishni learned Jagadeeshwari Krupai Puri by Tiruvaroor Ramaswami Pillai, in Mohanam Ragam and Adi Talam on Vaideeswaran Koil deity BAlAmbikA - Jagadeeswari - Goddess of the world. This was for 7 mins plus, long with some preliminary music in Violin - to be taught to the girls as they prepare the final.

Both groups did very well - recording my every move and documenting it for their practices. I am hoping to see both these groups benefiting from these rare and beautiful Krithis - on the Goddesses.

Few girls from the two groups will perform on 10th of October at the Silicon Andhra live recital. All will perform in Shri Krupa's Vijayadasami program and will take this opportunity to also dance in Zoom sessions for everyone to view - excellent effort girls!

There are two more Krithis to complete this weekend. This is a challenge to learn in one class and execute in the next.

*****Shri Krupa fundraiser event*****

In October, we are planning a recital at Silicon Andhra - a live program on stage to revere Ambal - Saraswathi, Lakshmi, Parvathi. This is a fundraiser for supporting two chosen artists.

Guru Vishal Ramani will be teaching these items in a series of marathon sessions on zoom in the upcoming days.

Shri Krupa students will have the opportunity for performing at Silicon Andhra on 10th and at our VJD on 16th for those vaccinated; and Zoom for anyone under 12.
