This past June, attending IGOR’s 20th Annual Exhibition at Principle Gallery in Charleston inspired me to try something new after seeing the incredible trompe-l’œil works.

That inspiration became Sunny Slide Down, my very first trompe-l’œil painting. 🍳

But this little egg tells a personal story, too. Just like the egg sliding out of its frame, I stumbled into painting, followed my curiosity and somehow landed where I am today, doing something I truly love. Sometimes, a little fall lands you somewhere better .

I’m delighted that Sunny Slide Down has been selected for IGOR’s 2026 Fall Salon Online Exhibition! Thank you to the entire IGOR team! I’m truly honored to have my work included in this exhibition alongside so many incredibly talented artists. ❤️

Every artist has a beginning. 🎨❤️
At CreativiTEA at Chopsticks Alley, I shared a little of my journey—how, when and where I first picked up a paintbrush, from learning to paint during the pandemic to finding my passion for art and eventually exhibiting my work.

Thank you to CreativiTEA and Chopsticks Alley Art for creating such a welcoming space where artists can connect, share their stories and grow. ❤️

Last night’s Flavors of the Diasporas exhibition was such a special and full-circle moment. ❤️

Three years ago, my very first exhibition was with Chopsticks Alley Art, where I showed a small painting of Sarawak laksa. Last night, standing beside my much larger Soul of Sarawak, I couldn’t help but think about how far this journey has taken me.

Thank you, Trami, for believing in me and for creating opportunities and opening doors for so many local artists.
Thank you also to the wonderful Chopsticks Alley Art team, and to all the amazing artists in this exhibition. I’m truly honored to share these walls and stories with you.
