✨ Tamisé Leaf Flakes ✨ Looking to add texture, sparkle, and movement to your gilding projects? Tamisé leaf flakes are small, irregular flakes of imitation metal leaf that create rich, organic metallic effects impossible to achieve with traditional leaf sheets.

Made from a blend of imitation gold, silver, copper, and variegated metal leaf colors, Tamisé flakes can be layered, blended, or scattered to create unique patterns, color shifts, and contemporary finishes.

Perfect for:
✨ Fine art
✨ Decorative finishes
✨ Mixed media
✨ Furniture & design accents

For best results, apply with a water-based adhesive such as Aqua Size. A 5g box covers approximately 3 sq. ft., depending on application density.

✨ Gilder's Tip GILDER'S PAD CARE ✨
A clean, well-maintained gilding pad helps prevent delicate gold leaf from snagging, tearing, or sticking where it shouldn't.

_Degrease regularly with a small amount of pumice powder.
_Use a soft, dry brush to remove gold dust and debris.
_Never use water or solvents on your pad.
_Store flat in a dry, dust-free space.
_Consider a separate pad for silver leaf to avoid residue transfer.

Proper care means smoother handling, cleaner cuts, and better results every time.

✨ GILDED HISTORIES: Wreaths 👑
In the ancient world, wreaths served many purposes, ranging from adornment to expressions of achievement and social status. Gold wreaths resembling flowers and leaves were often used to crown athletic victors.

Step 2: Load the Brush
Dip a fine-tip artist brush into the mixture, then remove any excess. The brush should be well-loaded for coverage, but not dripping—this gives you better control for precise highlights.

Step 3: Apply Highlights (“Tipping Off”)
Begin at the center of the design and work outward, lightly tipping the outer edges of each petal or raised detail. Use a very light touch—just enough for the brush to catch the edges and high points.

This technique creates a refined highlight that enhances depth and dimension without overpowering the surface. Focus on restraint and placement—let the light reflection do the work.

Step 4: Clean Up
Rinse brushes immediately with warm water and mild soap, taking care not to let the acrylic medium dry in the bristles.

Pro Tips
Work in small batches to keep your mixture fresh, and build richness gradually with layered applications. Try blending mica colors to create custom tones—like combining gold and bronze for added warmth—and always test on a sample surface before applying to your final piece.

Step 1: Create Your Metallic Mixture**
In a small container, combine 2 tablespoons of gloss water-based clear coat with 1 tablespoon of mica powder (Inca Gold). Mix thoroughly until the pigment is fully dispersed and the finish looks smooth and even.

Adjust as needed: add a bit more clear coat if the mixture feels too thick, or more mica powder if it’s too thin. You’re aiming for a brush-able metallic with a rich, even body.
