Based in San Francisco, California, Jay-R Aberin is a Visual Development graduate at the Academy of Art University. He also creates art independently under the name JABerin, an abbreviation for Jay-R Aberin. Also involved with nonprofits, he has contributed art to the American Heart Association, which the organization used to promote events, and he painted a mural for St. Joachim School encouragin

g children to express emotions. Prior to enrolling at the Academy of Art University, Jay-R Aberin served many years as a member of the United States Army, achieving the rank of sergeant. Furthermore, Jay-R Aberin has created innovative promotional campaign ideas for a diverse client portfolio. He served as former art director for Ghodspeed Woodcraft in Hayward, California, a role in which he accepted responsibility for project management as well as creative development. Jay-R Aberin collaborated on a regular basis with clients on matters ranging from promotional objectives to artistic techniques, then used this information to direct the work of art, production, and financial professionals. Jay-R Aberin balances his commercial art with an active studio practice. He works with a variety of materials, including graphite, charcoal, clay, oil paint, and digital media. A multimodal artist, he is a skilled drummer with a history of professional performance. In his free time, Jay-R Aberin enjoys spending time with his wife and three children and regularly takes them on vacations to immerse them in other cultures.
