As an artist who bridges both music and dance forms, Lizzie composes music with a dancer's movement and dances with a musician's ear. She is easily recognized for her uniquely poetic lyrics, and her songs have been compared to small screenplays. Lizzie graduated from NYU with a BFA in Dance in 2007 and then founded LizZieMoVeS. Through LizZieMoVeS, she performed at the Merce Cunningham Studios and
in several commissioned works for the United Nations. She returned to the West Coast and created two evening-length performances -- "Daisy B's Exploding Red Tomatoes" (Portland and San Francisco) and "Space Garbage" (San Francisco and New York City) -- which blended contemporary dance, music, video art, costume, and sculptural installation. Audiences loved the performances and waited for what was next for Lizzie. (For more about Lizzie's performances including videos and photos, please visit her website at www.lizziemoves.org.) After "Space Garbage", Lizzie put dancing on hold. It was time to give full attention to her musical voice. She sequestered herself for eighteen months during which over 30 songs were composed. Now, Lizzie is working with additional musicians, dancers, choreographers, and technicians to refine SECRET SONGS and bring it to the stage in San Francisco, Portland, and New York.
