We want to help you get your gear back.

My name is Monique and like you, I am a musician.

After managing San Francisco Guitarworks for nearly four years, I realized that the music industry had a serious problem – lost and stolen music instruments.

Occasionally folks would come in and tell me how their favorite guitar or bass had been stolen or lost over the years. Often times, they would ask me to keep an eye out for a certain white P-bass from a certain year with a certain serial number and to be frank with you, I was surprised that there was not a better way to search for this information online. Sure, there have been some websites devoted to lost and stolen musical instruments but my idea was much grander.

After being a musician for nearly twenty-six years, I have worked at such institutions as Gelb Music, Guitar Tricks, EMG Pickups, Gimme Radio and of course, SF Guitarworks. I’m a four-time Winter NAMM attendee and have made friends with countless businesses in the industry, from Earthquaker Devices to Floyd Rose to StewMac to Ormsby. I found myself asking: what if we could create an online database that could become the industry standard for instrument stores that bought and sold used instruments? What if the gear companies in the industry, with all their different ways of serial marking their products, came together to combat lost and stolen gear in one location?
