Celebrating the 90th birthday of Wavy Gravy, with my favorite living bass player TONY GARNIER, who held down a Soulful Funky Solid Groove throughout the proceedings, along with the rest of the fabulous house band (Larry Campbell, Vicki Randle, Greg Leisz, etc.). It was a LOVE FEST all the way around! ♥️ 💕 So honored to be a part of Wavy's BIG 9-OH! B-DAY BASH, with the wonderful Community of Souls he's created with all his many good works, for ALL these years!~ Happy Birthday Wavy & Many Many More!

OH WELL!.... I didn't pick up any awards, but I did have myself a Natural ball in Memphis last week @ the Annual Blues Music Awards!~I loved connecting with all my fellow blues travelers, including My dear Sister in Music, Long Tall Marcia Ball, & was so happy to see her get inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame!~I indulged in some outrageously scrumptious Soul food at the legendary Four-Way Grill, made my annual pilgrimage to Memphis Minnie's gravesite ...AND... SANG with my old friend legendary Memphis Soul Queen CARLA THOMAS & her sister Vaneese!!!... So I guess I really did win, after all!~I just love Memphis & can't wait to be back there again soon!~
