Arline, Beth and Marc are headed back to Paris for another edition of "San Francisco Storytelling in the City of Light" If you happen to be in Paris on May 30th, please join us, or send your friends our way! It will be, perhaps, too much fun.
Porchlight Presents “Fish Out of Water” – San Francisco’s Longest-Running Storytelling Show returns to Paris
Dive into a world of personal stories told live on stage as San Francisco’s Porchlight series returns to Paris for the third time.
This year’s event will be held at the Galerie L'Avis De Passage on 30 May with a group of storytellers sharing personal tales centered around the theme Fish Out of Water. From moments of deep discomfort to surprising self-discovery, this show will take the audience on a journey of cultural missteps, unexpected adventures, and the challenges of finding one’s place in a foreign or unfamiliar environment. Some fish even grow legs and evolve.
Whether it’s a story of navigating a new country, experiencing a clash of cultures, or overcoming personal boundaries, Fish Out of Water invites the audience to reflect on the universal feeling of being out of place and the beauty of transformation that those experiences can bring.
Featuring:
A dynamic group of storytellers – some seasoned Porchlight veterans and some telling stories on stage for the first time, choreographer Delphine Gaborit, actor Jean-Baptiste Marcenac, writer Scott Hobbes Bourne, journalist at Le Monde Sinead McCausland, creative director Steve Muller, and writer/activist Gail Straub
