Cry triumph! Introducing our incredible cast for Euripides’ BACCHAE. ⚡️

This electrifying Greek tragedy, directed by and adapted from Emily Wilson’s vibrant translation, centers around the followers of the proud and charismatic god of wine, Dionysus. When the king of Thebes seeks to destroy their sacred rites, the bloody truth of what it means to deny a god is revealed. Dancing, debauchery, and dismemberment are on full display at the Victoria Theatre this June!

New Year, New Season Programming! Get ready for “Beyond the Bard; To Thine Own Self Be True” in 2026.
🏛️ The BACCHAE is an electrifying Greek tragedy by Euripides, centered around the proud and charismatic god of wine, Dionysus, and his reverent group of followers: the Bacchants. This dance-forward adaptation, vibrantly translated by acclaimed classicist Emily Wilson, focuses on themes of gender non-conformity, bodily autonomy, identity, and community. So... “you would like to see what may disgust you?”
💐THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST is a farcical comedy by world renowned wit Oscar Wilde. A blend of flamboyant Victoriana and the gender-bending glitter and glam of the New Romantics movement of British pop culture in the 1980s, this adaptation will be sure to have a music of its own.
