Golden Gate Park Band 144 years of free public concerts in Golden Gate Park! The Golden Gate Park Band has been performing free concerts in San Francisco since 1882.

This 30 member group of professional musicians delights audiences in 27 concerts a year at our home venue in Golden Gate Park. We collaborate with guest artists and community groups throughout the year, performing a diverse selection of music for concert band.

Celebrate the rich traditions and resilient spirit of Ukraine on Sunday August 23 at 1 pm with the Golden Gate Park Band. We’re honored to partner with the Ukrainian American Coordinating Council and the Ukrainian Heritage Club of Northern California for an afternoon of music that reflects Ukraine’s vibrant history and enduring pride.

Featuring stirring folk melodies, lively dances, and heartfelt anthems, this concert shines a spotlight on the beauty and strength of Ukrainian culture. Join us Sunday at the bandshell in Golden Gate Park for a celebration of heritage, and the unifying power of music with fifteen guest performing artists and ensembles from the Ukrainian community, including:

Kateryna Boiko, the Kalyna Bay Band, Zoloti Maky Ukrainian Dance Ensemble, Ivanna Tarantula Filipenko, Lesya Zabash*ta, the Bandura Ensemble of Norther California, vocal trio “Octane”, Ola Herasymenko-Oliynka (Bandura), Maria Tscherepenko and much more!

Celebrate Saint Stephen’s Day with an afternoon of music, dance, and tradition! The Golden Gate Park Band is proud to partner with the Hungarian Heritage Foundation of Northern California for a concert honoring Hungary’s rich cultural legacy.

This special concert honors the dedication and courage of our firefighters, paramedics, police officers, and emergency professionals, with representatives from NERT (Neighborhood Emergency Response Team) joining us in recognition of community preparedness and service.

Cheers to the Park Band’s very own Daven Tjaarda-Hernandez, our trombone soloist on “The Blue Bells of Scotland”! Did you know that Daven is a classically trained trombonist and holds a masters degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign?
