As part of Eastern Wind and Western Skies, we’ll perform Ethan Soledad’s “In effect it is this: that I love you,” a setting of a love letter written in 1917 by Wilfred Owen to his colonel Siegfried Sassoon. Join us this Saturday and Sunday at 3 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church to hear this moving work and others that will take you on a romantic journey. The Golden Gate Men's Chorus and small ensemble, Counterpoint, have both been selected for the final round for the 8th Tokyo International Choir Competition 東京国際合唱コンクール in July after the qualifying round in January. GGMC will be the first chorus representing the US at the TICC!

Wonderful having the Glee Club from The Roxbury Latin School — currently on tour here in the Bay Area — join us at GGMC rehearsal last night. We enjoyed hearing selections from their repertoire and had a fantastic time blending voices on several joint pieces.

UPDATED: SF Bay Area friends, if you’re free Thursday evening (3/19), the Glee Club joins the Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys for 5:30 PM Evensong at Grace Cathedral — well worth a listen.
