This is a place where Christian faith and intellect are integrated. Where body, mind, heart, and soul matter. Where philosophy meets praxis, where music meets theology, where artistry meets ministry.
What an insightful group of students we have in our Worship Arts Leadership course this semester. Wonderful conversations these past few weeks regarding the question: What does it look like for the worship pastor to become an informed, discerning, and Spirit-led ethnographer of their congregation?
Students from the APU Worship Studies department enjoying their Thursday, while discussing the art of worship leading with Dr. Martin!
We are so excited to welcome new students to a new semester of Worship Studio! Stay tuned for this year’s projects…

DAY IN THE LIFE: Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a music student?
. . .
This is Destiny Onaka (‘22). She’s in her senior year as a Music and Worship Major and Biblical Studies student here at APU with incredible musicianship and a heart for community. Enjoy as she takes us through her day!

We are excited that you are here to witness our rebranding as we represent this incredible group of students here at APU.
Here at APU, we find ourselves reshaping and redefining our definitions of worship. One aspect we love to highlight is the importance of the “and” in the phrase “music and worship”. We believe worship extends beyond being synonymous with music. Worship is far more inclusive of various art expressions, career paths, and can even be reflected in how we treat each other.
. . .
What does worship mean to you?
Welcome to the APU Worship Studies

Something new is coming, stay tuned!
Welcome to APU Worship Arts, a space where we get to share the stories of how our students are learning, leading, and growing in their calling, craft, and connection.
Stay tuned for the reset!

The B.M. in Music & Worship degree prepares APU undergraduates for real work in real places. Students graduate from APU thoroughly prepared for work in ministry and worship leadership. With an exceptional placement rate, a long line of exceptional APU alumni are now worship leaders and pastors all over the world.

What a great day of learning, community, food, and fellowship! Our Worship Arts Colloquium was a success, as we engaged in much-needed conversations around key questions:
How can music enhance our theological understanding? How does Christ-centered worship shape and guide us toward spiritual formation, reconciliation, and community? What are the pastoral implications of these connections for worship leaders?
Great to have Music & Worship alumni, School of Theology members, and Vocare program participants with us. We are blessed with amazing students who have brilliant insights, excellence in musicianship, pastoral hearts, and talent in abundance.

We were inspired by guest artist Matt Redman, at our Songwriting Academy this weekend. He challenged us to bring precision, passion, and persistence to the craft of songwriting, and offered a number of philosophical, theological, and practical tools for the songwriting process. And what a delightful weekend we had together, as the academy was at maximum capacity.
Brilliant and dedicated alumni brought helpful perspective and additional support to our songwriting teams. Thank you to , , , , , for bringing brilliant perspective and musical support to our songwriting teams. And to the wonderful Angles Worship Initiative team for preparing and sponsoring this event.
