The rocknroll icons series was born out of my love of rock and roll and San Diego’s local music scene. A way to pay tribute to San Diego musicians who’ve fed my soul with rock and roll for decades. Sized after an album cover, it’s a multi step process that starts with a carefully selected image that is digitally reimagined then hand transferred to a 12in x 12in birch wood substrate and finally, using my own hand and some brushes of color I bring out the true essence of the musical artist in motion.

Another one of San Diego’s finest added to the Local Rock Icons Collection San Diego front woman, Mercedes Scalzitti has been rockin So Cal for a few decades.
Most notably, Dirty Birdz and the Horn Stars, Cult Tribute-Sweet Soul Sister, and most recently, Freak Show (I haven’t had the pleasure of catching the latter) she always puts on one hell of a show in true rock star style
