Quick look at me mastering my new Freshcobar remix of Saint Barth by my friend RhythmDB, out on his label Global305. Running it through the analog hardware chain for that last bit of warmth and glue... I feel lucky I get to work this way.

Most producers think they’re doing something wrong… but the real issue is timing.
If you’re using tools before fixing the source, your mix will always fight you.

This track was completely blown out. The gain staging was off and everything was pushed way too hard.

A lot of producers think louder equals better, but it usually just destroys the mix. When your levels are balanced correctly, the track hits harder without blowing everything up.

Most producers think their track sounds weak because of mastering. But the real problem usually starts much earlier.

Bad sound selection, weak low end, and placeholder sounds will sabotage your mix before mastering even begins. Fix the production first, and the mix and master become way easier.
