Yesterday, we had a wonderful morning at St. Mark Early Learning Center in Boerne, TX We had a blast drumming with their 2, 3, and 4-yr old students. It’s such a joy to watch them engage with us and with each other!
Watching these little ones is a great reminder of how powerful group drumming can be. In addition to being fun (and uber cute), this is a dynamic hands-on activity that helps young kids grow in many ways…improves focus and listening skills, provides an opportunity for self-expression, builds social/emotional skills and fosters an early sense of teamwork.
Group drumming is a great way to cultivate connection and lay a foundation for cooperation. We just love seeing what happens when we give the “littles” a chance to shine!
What non-screen activities do you use to improve feelings of connection and social awareness you young children?
