A rework of an old piece took a turn towards springtime and “Cherry Blossoms” was born. Cherry blossoms are a symbol of spring, a celebration of life and a reminder that life is fleeting.

Immediately below, my friend’s, Robin Gara, beautiful painting, which won the Richard Conn Memorial Mixed Media Award, combines lemony warmth and subtle coolness in complete harmony!

Last night’s reception at Centro de Artes celebrating the New York Foundation for the Arts Immigrant Artist Mentoring program illustrated San Antonio’s sense of community and spirit of togetherness. The breadth and depth of the Art was moving. Thank you to the San Antonio Department of arts and culture. And thank you to the curators and organizers Ricky Armendariz, Kim Bishop, Luis Valderas Artist and Guillermina Zabala for all you did to make this exhibit possible. 🙏 my Artist friends for being there. ❤️

To all the artists who were able to participate, I am honored to be one of you. This opportunity reminds us of what’s possible.

“After being closed to the public for over a year and a half due to COVID-19, the City of San Antonio’s Department of Arts & Culture is reopening the Centro de Artes Gallery to the public on January 26, 2022. Visitors will be able to experience the gallery’s first exhibit of 2022 – the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) Immigrant Artist Mentoring Program Exhibition – Round 2.”
