𝕸𝖚𝖘𝖍𝖗𝖔𝖔𝖒 𝕭𝖔𝖎 - I honestly kinda love this little piece I made. This is probably the first time I’ve taken a character the whole way through the complete process, it was challenging, but fun! The original concept piece this is inspired by was created by ! I’m excited to animate this guy in the future! Also throw out some name suggestions, I’ve just been calling him mushroom Boi
Process:
Modeling- Sculpted in Zbrush. played around with teeth, but eventually stuck with the original concept. The eyes were modeled in blender, and used methods from method to get started with them!
Retopology-
3D coat is my go to for retopology, and feeling a lot more comfortable with it now! Retopology is not my favorite and I usually don’t finish characters because I don’t like it, but glad I pushed through this one! Big thanks to both and Danny Mac for some great tutorials on body retopology!
Texturing-
I love substance for texturing. This one was interesting to figure out, he’s not a stereotypical “human” and the original concept was in black and white. Looked at a lot of mushroom reference and tried to incorporate pieces of that into the character. Something really helpful that was ‘s video breaking down his texturing of his zombie!
Rigging-
Never fully rigged an actual complete character like this before, turns out I suck. I recommended auto rig pro for blender, much better than I could have done!
Scene-
For the rest of the scene I most notably used blender guru method for helping create the flower, and grass essentials. Holy crap that add on is amazing and I love it. Also used some of .alexandrov methods to help render the plants and processing the image. Most of my blender knowledge can be attributed to blender guru and gleb, so most of my methods come from them.
