Every great culture rests on its art.

Welcome to Pillars of the Arts, our 2026–27 season.

Inspired by the core pillars of The Orchestra San Antonio, this season explores the foundations that shape our work. Performance and collaboration bring musicians, artists, and educators together through singular experiences on and off the stage.

The season opens with the World Premiere of "La Minerva" by composer Juan Pablo Contreras, performed by soloist Anna Lee. As part of our Chamber Connexions series, Andrés Cárdenes — one of the major violinist-pedagogues of his generation — joins The Orchestra San Antonio's artist faculty onstage, showcasing the faculty's talent as both educators and performing artists. Closing the season, composer Daniel Freiberg returns to San Antonio to explore folk traditions and their connection to orchestral music.

We are wrapping up the 25-26 season with hearts filled with gratitude and fulfillment.

Looking back, we're reminded of the memorable concerts, meaningful collaborations, and transformative educational experiences that defined this year. Every part of The Orchestra San Antonio came together to inspire, connect, and create opportunities through music.

Thank you to everyone who attended a concert, learned alongside us, supported our mission, or performed together on stage. You made this year truly unforgettable.
