These nine amazing young women joined us for the Formation Service Camp in San Antonio January 8-19, 2026 and will be serving in New Orleans, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, Peru, Argentina, Costa Rica, Canada, Switzerland, and Ethiopia! Please keep them in prayer as they head out on mission!

Today we celebrate the Feast of St. Francis de Sales, the gentle shepherd whose life and spirit inspired St. John Bosco and the entire Salesian Family. His timeless words, “Be who you are and be that well,” invite us to embrace authenticity, self-acceptance, and the unique gifts God has given us. May we use those gifts to serve God and others, becoming the best version of ourselves in each present moment.

Our VIDES+USA volunteer Nancy Rodriguez spent nearly two months this summer in Medellin, Colombia with our Salesian Sisters at Casa Mama Margarita! During her time there, she accompanied the girls at both of their boarding school locations as a teacher, mentor and expert communicator. Here’s a snapshot of her time there!

“I prepared for this experience in many ways, but the outpouring of love and grace on mission was more than I could have imagined,” she said. “God’s light shines in every mission the Salesian Sisters carry out.”

Welcome to our new VIDES volunteers! Nine new volunteers gathered in San Antonio for the Formation Service Camp June 5-19 where they learned about our Salesian spirituality and style of accompanying the young. We are blessed to be sending them on mission to Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Egypt, Switzerland, South Africa, and Vietnam!

This is a month overdue, but still worth sharing! We were blessed by the presence of Ally and Sabra during our January Formation Service Camp in San Antonio! They were full of joy and truly desire to accompany the young in the spirit of St. John Bosco! Ally will be going on mission with our sisters in Puerto Rico and Sabra will be going to Chile. We welcome them to the VIDES USA family!
