Look at art to boost your creativity!
The holidays are almost over but if you are off from work through the weekend (or even if you are not) I suggest you take the time to go to The San Antonio Museum of Art. There are two shows that I have heard are worth your effort. First consider Victorian Radicals: From the Pre-Raphaelites to the Arts & Crafts Movement which will be up until Sunday, January 5th. According to SAMA this exhibit explores the ideas that preoccupied artists during the last half of the 19th century. The works include paintings, sculpture, silver, glass, and jewelry. Something in this exhibit should excite your creative juices! Also, there will be several lectures about this work on January 4th and January 5th if you want to explore the work in more detail.
Also, look at The Magic of Clay and Fire: Japanese Contemporary Ceramics. This exhibition is up until April 19th and features 16 works that showcase unique shapes, techniques, and glazes. There are traditional forms, such as utensils for the Tea Ceremony along with innovative clay sculptures. You have a little more time to see this one but if you make it before the 5th of January then you can have a two for one.
The hours for the museum are listed on their website and be sure to check out the entrance fees. If you are 65+ or Military or a student be sure to bring your ID because you get an entrance discount. Plus, the entrance fee is waived on Tuesday from 4pm to 9pm and Sunday from 10am to 12pm. For all the complete information go to https://www.samuseum.org/ and check it out!
Also, make sure to check the workshops on The Creative Light. Developing Your Personal Vision starts January 7th and there are more! The new year, NO the new decade is here so make sure to start it out right and learn something!
