Well, l first started in magic as “Bonzo the Clown”. Believe it or Not, it all started from a church dressed Halloween Party in a young couples Sunday School Class! I went dressed as a clown. The following August, one of the ladies asked if I would dress as a clown for her son’s Birthday Party. Of course I said, “Yes”. But what would I do as a clown? Tell jokes? No. Play games with them? No. Juggle? No. Fall over chairs like Dick Van D**e? No. I had no idea what I was going to do to keep kids entertained for about an hour at his party. Then the idea of doing magic came to my mind. So, I went to a magic shop on Ingram Rd. and told the man behind the counter that I needed about 6-8 very easy to do magic tricks for a child’s BD Party. The party was a success and Bonzo was born. However, after I retired I decided that Bonzo wasn’t coming back due to “make-up” issues so, I am now Texas Magic James Hubbard!
