The background of this drawing has been simplified so the girl's white dress doesn't get lost. The photograph was a copy, so some details are unclear.

This is Phil's grandmother and her doll. It is turning out to be tricky because the child moved (whodda thunk?), and blurs at the hands and eyes make those areas hard to define. The dreadful backdrop looks threatening to me; the girl seems to agree. She is standing on an ottoman; I would be wobbling. Is the doll faceless, or is she facing toward the girl with her cap towards the viewer?

Chas would have been around 11. The face still isn't quite young enough, but it recognizably belongs to Chas.
