Today we had the opportunity to visit the San Antonio Spurs Impact Center as part of the work beginning through the SPC / Spurs Partnership for Equitable Career Pathways funded by the NBA Foundation.

Being able to help write and now help lead implementation of this initiative is something I’m extremely proud of. This work is about more than events or programming.

It’s about building real pathways for young people across San Antonio to connect education, career readiness, leadership development, and workforce opportunities.

Excited to continue collaborating with Spurs Sports & Entertainment, the NBA Foundation, and our incredible partners at St. Philip's College as we work to serve 3,500 youth ages 14–24 through this initiative.

A lot of work ahead, but today was a strong reminder of the impact this partnership can make.

Been super busy since the last post so here’s a quick recap 👀

1-3) As soon as I got home from Alabama I took my oldest w/ me to support , the collegiate esports club I advise, in the Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament organized by . Awesome to see collegiate teams from all over Texas gather to battle it out! We got eliminated early, but still cool to go toe to toe with some big name universities.

4-6) We had our esports club meeting later that week, which was the biggest attendance we’ve gotten so far! Even had some esports leads from SAC come by and swap ideas.

7-11) Final session of the new Fellowship series I started for our Blue Blazer Society, the student leader mentorship program I run. Series went over sound financial management, leadership, and professionally presenting ourselves.

These two student groups I lead are my happy place, where I can bring my innovation to students leaders eager to try new ideas and carve a path others can follow 🥹

Oh yeah, and my birthday passed 😅 Didn’t do anything really other than share some time and cake with my family 🥰

What an incredible experience at the Thurgood Marshall College Fund Workforce Development Summit in Birmingham, Alabama. 🔥

So grateful our students from had the chance to be part of this 🙏 TMCF staff and partners showed up with so much intention, connecting students to real employment and university opportunities.

The whole summit was centered on empowering them to see their potential, own their confidence, and recognize that they are absolutely deserving of these pathways.

Loved connecting with other leaders from HBCUs across the country and seeing the collective commitment to student success.

SUPER proud of our students who attended… they represented beautifully. Already looking forward to bringing an even bigger group next time. ✨

Honored to be invited to serve on the brand new Global Career Development Council through !

The Careers, Internships, and Global Learning Conference was an amazing experience that expanded my understanding of how to better prepare our students for the global workforce, and introduced me to a network of career services, experieitnail learning, and global learning experts from around the world to help me along the way.

Their insights were both a validation that I am on the right track with my vision, and an eye opener that I can be doing more intentional collaborations to ensure our students have the worldwide advantage in their long-term career success.

Thank you Mario and Andres for the invitation and your leadership in this enourmous endeavor. Your reassurance that I deserve to be in this space means the world to me!

Looking forward to continuing to work with this group to make a global wide impact on student career success.

The inaugural SA Gaming Summit was a great day of learning and networking! 🎉🥳🎉

Thank you and the , and all the volunteers for all the work you put into making this such a successful event 👏

It was an honor to be involved in the panel discussing esports’ impact on our local college scenes, and the future opportunities we have to create a city-wide esport ecosystem of student support from scholastic to collegiate and beyond!

Our students appreciated the opportunity to learn from and network with professionals in the local gaming, tech, and esports industries.

The sessions and expo hall were filled with great advice on how we can evolve SPC Ambush Gaming from a club into a full fledged program!

Can’t wait for next year’s summit!!!
