Just to get everyone in on the loop here cause updating hasent been so good but I’ll catch it all up. ( this might be a little long)
About a month ago shortly after my win this season we realized my car was starting to run way hotter than normal and way hotter than it should’ve been so we diagnosed it and found a bad head gasket. We did get that issue fixed and back out after tearing the car apart on Thursday and having it running shortly before the races started on that Saturday. We had a couple nights with it after that one not so good but then the one that started this whole issue and I’m gonna sound stupid for doing this but I felt it was already to the point it wasn’t gonna change it.
Last weekend we had a pretty decent car and ran 2nd in the heat and felt like we had the car back where it needed to be but when we pulled in to tech we noticed coolant was spraying everywhere so we got it back to the pits and dug in to find that the head gasket was out again but I wanted my points so we decided to put water in it and see what we could do.
We started 8th in the feature and had a really fast car and got it up to 3rd and felt like it was moving and with 2-3 laps to go it was hot again and water was spraying inside my passenger side door and that ended up blowing that motor. So with the help of some wonderful people we found a motor to get us through the rest of the year so we spent all week getting it in and ready for race day but little did we know another thing had to pop up. We have a good running car but can’t get it to go in to gear so we tore the trans itself back out and changed the slave cylinder/throw out bearing hoping that was the issue for it to do the same thing so there was no way to race it Saturday night but we tried our best and had so many hands in deck one being the points leader and multiple other competitors.
That really showed what this sport can be about with the help of some good people. We dropped from second in points to 3rd but after the year we’ve had I don’t think there’s any room to complain about any of it.
We will take these two weeks to try and get it back going to round out the year with it and see where we end up.
