Join the Paint & Write the Town event in Salem for a summer of plein air painting and writing, culminating in an exhibition.

Join us for Paint & Write the Town 2026, presented by Artists in Action!

Spend summer Saturdays creating outdoors in Salem and the Willamette Valley with fellow artists and writers. All skill levels and mediums are welcome — from en plein air painting to poetry inspired by Oregon’s beauty. The event wraps up with a juried exhibition in October. Come create, explore, and be inspired!

The first location starts Saturday, May 30th in the downtown Salem area. Check in at the Elsinore Framing & Gallery, 10am-4pm.

There is no fee to participate. However there is a nominal fee to enter the final exhibit in October.

Starting Tuesday, May 19th! Artists in Action's member meeting has now switched to our summer hours. Meetings are now on the third Tuesday night, 5:00 Meet & Greet; 5:30 meeting starts. Same location: Elsinore Framing/Gallery.

Our special presenter is Lorraine Dye, pastel artist!
