Salem Fine Arts Commission The Salem Fine Arts Commission is a City Council appointed body assigned the role “to inform, encourage, and involve the Salem community in the fine arts.”

The Salem Fine Arts Commission is a City Council appointed body assigned the role “to inform, encourage, and involve the Salem community in the fine arts.” We seek to bring the arts community together for future activities and opportunities of sharing the varied talents of our community. The Salem Fine Arts Commission presents this Directory of Artists to the public of Salem, Virginia as a listing

of artists who reside in the City of Salem. We appreciate the willingness of those listed to present their information for the publication of this document. This Directory is arranged to include: Visual Arts, Music, Theatre, and Dance. Also, we have included those who teach in the City of Salem Public Schools and the Music and Arts faculty of Roanoke College. The Directory will be updated on an annual basis. If you would like to be included in the directory for 2007, please send your information to Salem Fine Arts Commission, P.O. Box 285, Salem, VA 24153.

Wow!...Check out these kids, all smiles after receiving awards at the 2016 Scholastic Arts & Writing Competition. Out of over 800 entries the Kids from the Salem Art Center brought home 17 awards! Great Job guys!

The Salem Museum will be hosting the Salem High School art students again this month for the 4th consecutive year. Please join us with the families of the students at an opening reception, tonight, March 3rd, at 6 pm. The students are so encouraged when SHS members and community members view their work and offer positive feedback! The artwork will be in the ground floor gallery space for the remainder of March.

Saturday Sept. 17th 4pm-8pm Art Show

BREAKING NEWS: ARTIST WANTED!

The Salem Fine Arts Commission will be proudly hosting it's first of a series of Professional Art Shows! Each will be a one night celebration of what our artistic community has to offer!

The SFAC is NOW looking for a limited amount of quality artist's to compete for a Cash Prize, Ribbons for 1st-HM and a opportunity to sell something!

The event will take place this May 21st from 4-8pm with Art Drop off that May 20th from 4-7pm at a later to be reveled Salem Location.

SUPPORT THE ARTS ALERT:

The Arts of Salem High School are having a "Souper Bowl" night on Thursday night Feb.18th from 5:00 - 7:00 pm in the school cafeteria. The Visual Arts are selling Ceramic Bowls for $10.00 a bowl and the Culinary Art students are making the soups and serving the soups and the Performing Arts will provide entertainment. This event will be assisted by our PTSA and this could count towards one of your PTSA required meetings. All of the proceeds will go to the Salem Food Pantry. So please come out and support the Arts and the Salem Food Pantry.
