Unfortunately, due to expected thunderstorms Friday afternoon through early sat morn, we have made the difficult decision to postpone this weekend's race at Newport Speedway .

While we know this is disappointing for racers, teams, and fans, our priority is ensuring everyone has the opportunity to enjoy a safe and competitive event. We also recognize the significant travel expenses many of our racers incur, and we never want competitors making a long trip only to be met with conditions that don't allow us to provide the quality racing experience everyone deserves.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the team at Speedway for working with us to identify a suitable makeup date. Their cooperation and flexibility have been much appreciated.

We will announce the new race date as soon as all details are finalized. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support. We look forward to seeing everyone at the track very soon.

🏁 TRACK RESCUE TUESDAY 🏁

🔥 ABC vs. Purple K: What’s the Difference and Why Does It Matter at the Racetrack? 🔥

When a race car catches fire, every second matters. The type of fire extinguisher used can make the difference between a minor incident and a major emergency.

Most people are familiar with the common ABC dry chemical extinguisher, which is effective on:
✅ Class A fires (wood, paper, cloth)
✅ Class B fires (gasoline, oil, fuel)
✅ Class C fires (electrical equipment)

But in the world of motorsports, many safety teams rely on Purple K (PKP) extinguishers.

Why?

🏎️ Purple K is specifically designed to rapidly knock down flammable liquid fires.
🏎️ It is highly effective on gasoline, diesel, alcohol-based fuels, and other Class B fires.
🏎️ It often extinguishes fuel fires faster than traditional ABC dry chemical extinguishers.

That’s why you’ll find Purple K protecting race teams, fuel operations, airports, and many professional motorsports safety crews.

💬 Discussion Question:
Have you ever used a Purple K extinguisher, either in racing, fire service, aviation, or industry? What was your experience compared to traditional ABC extinguishers?

🚨 NEW WEEKLY SERIES CALLED TRACK RESCUE TUESDAY 🚨

Have you ever thought about what happens when things go wrong on the racetrack?

Most fans see the excitement, the speed, and the competition. Drivers see the challenge. But behind every race is a dedicated safety team standing ready for the moment nobody wants to happen.

🏁 When a driver straps into a race car, they aren’t just trusting their equipment—they’re trusting the people who will come for them if something goes wrong.

Track safety isn’t just about responding to crashes.

✅ It gives drivers confidence to compete.

✅ It helps tracks meet insurance and risk management requirements.

✅ It demonstrates a commitment to competitors, crews, and fans.

✅ It protects the future of motorsports by creating a safer environment for everyone involved.

The best safety teams are the ones you never have to think about. We spend countless hours training, preparing equipment, and planning for situations we hope never happen.

When the caution flag flies, seconds matter.

When a fire starts, seconds matter.

When a driver is injured, seconds matter.

That’s why professional track safety isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity.

Rescheduled for June 13th

🚨ATTENTION: ALL STOCK CAR TEAMS 🚨

Due to the forecasted weather for May 30th, we have made the difficult decision to postpone this weekend’s racing program at Speedway.

We know many of our racers and teams travel long distances to compete, and with the rising cost of fuel and travel expenses, we feel it is important to make this decision early enough to save everyone unnecessary time and money.

This is never an easy call, but we want to do what’s best for our racers, teams, fans, and staff. We appreciate everyone’s understanding and continued support.

The May 30th event will now be rescheduled for June 13th, and we look forward to seeing everyone back at Newport then.

Please stay tuned for any additional updates. Thank you and safe travels to all.
