From Trish Duggan:

Our great friend Bill Edwards has passed away. It is very sad news for our community in St. Pete. We have all benefited from his philanthropy, philosophy and tremendous support of the arts. From BayWalk to Sundial, from saving the Mahaffey Theater to bringing the Rowdies back, his vision helped reshape downtown St. Petersburg into what it is today.

Bill was a former Marine who was a Purple Heart recipient, a very successful businessman and philanthropist. He truly loved this community and this country.

Our thoughts are with his family and everyone whose life he touched in our beautiful city of St. Petersburg.

Rest in peace and gratitude.

With Heavy Hearts 🩵

It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of Bill Edwards, a cherished friend, supporter, and member of the Imagine Museum family.

A longtime champion of the arts in St. Petersburg, Bill dedicated 15 years to the Mahaffey Theater and through the Bill Edwards Foundation for the Arts, supported arts education and cultural experiences throughout our community. 🎭

Bill’s passion for the arts also brought him to Imagine Museum, where his partnership with Founder Trish Duggan helped connect the visual and performing arts through exhibitions at the Mahaffey. Bill joined the Imagine Museum Board of Directors, further strengthening his commitment to our mission. 🖼️

We are deeply grateful for Bill’s friendship, generosity, and lasting impact on our community. His legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.

Our deepest condolences are with his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Thank you, Bill, for believing in the power of the arts. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered. 🩵
