Some people come into your life and leave a mark that never really goes away. ❤️
Carmen Romano and Eric Martin were the original Blue Brothers Tribute EVER. I had the pleasure of working with them at Legends in Concert and many Las Vegas corporates, and they were always SO much fun and SO incredibly supportive of me.
Backstage, they would sing Barbra songs and tell me how wonderful I was :) I always thought it was so funny because both of them had AMAZING voices on their own. You just didn’t get to hear what they could really do because, as the Blue Brothers, they were too busy entertaining everyone!
I can still hear Eric singing Phantom of the Opera one moment and a country tune the next! What a voice. ❤️
Carmen and Eric were best friends. They were always laughing, pulling pranks on all of us! They would come up with ideas for me and get so excited about giving me new lines or bits to add to my show. They were the kind of people who made everyone around them feel special and loved.
Sadly, we lost Eric on April 1, 2019. He was far too young and we all mourned losing him. I watched Carmen lose not only his best friend, but a huge part of his world. 💔
Eric’s birthday was August 2.
And now, all these years later, Carmen and I have found ourselves teaming up — this time as Tony Bennett and Barbra Streisand.
And I have to tell you… Carmen sings SO AMAZING. ❤️
So I wanted to share this video of us singing Smile — because I can't help but think Eric would be SO proud of his best friend.
I can almost hear him saying, “You guys sound AWESOME!” That was Eric’s word. 😊
Happy Birthday, Eric.
You are still SO missed.
And Carmen… I think your best bud would be pretty damn proud of you. ❤️
