I’m happy to announce I’ve been invited back again for this year’s N**e Nite in St Pete. If you can, come out for what will, undoubtedly, be a great time!

For over 20 years, N**e Nite has sparked meaningful discussions about identity, body image, self-acceptance, and the genuine, unvarnished beauty of being human. Our bodies are a shared experience, a gentle reminder that beneath the surface, we’re all more similar than we realize.

Let me start by saying this - I am not a musician. I will own that I am an artist, and I will own that I am always playing with various ways of creating art.

For years, I have dinked around on the computer and my phone when insomnia was at its worst, and made a lot of bad music. More unfinished beats and songs than anything else. But a couple years ago, while Alisha and I were celebrating our anniversary in Mexico, I started forming a song in my head that needed to be made. This was the first time I had been so musically driven to create something very specific. The issue was that I had never had a song in my head and then went and created it. This was the first time I really took this seriously, but here we are roughly two years later, with so much trial and error, and I have a song I am so incredibly proud of; one devoted to my love, my muse, my lemon drop. ❤️

Having it out in the world is one thing, but having it pressed on an actual record, feels so much better. I wanted this one of a kind record to be as special as the one I made this song for, so a simple 7” would not do. I am so happy I met Tyler with the amazing work he does. I loved collaborating with him on this project, and I’m so happy with the album design that I was able to pull off with his help. And listening to this record for the first time with the love of my life while our daughter sings along to it in our living room… that was just one of those moments I will never forget.

Thank you Audio Geography Studios for helping me make this so much more special than I imagined.

I hope you all love this song as much as my lemon drop does. Please be gentle. My feelings can scratch as easily as vinyl.

Artist Statement

Art has always been a constant in my life. It was my therapy during a tumultuous childhood, when I plastered walls with magazine and poster clippings and filled countless sketchbooks with drawings. Those early forms of self-expression still echo through my work today, with collages often serving as a backdrop for paint and ink renderings. While the foreground tells a short story, those who look beyond the surface will find a novel contained within the entirety of the piece.

I love experimenting with different media, and my process has continued to evolve over the years. I used to create simply for the sake of making something I'd enjoy looking at, but now a lot more thought goes into my work—each piece is almost fully fleshed out in my mind before I ever touch the canvas. My themes have ranged from personal to political, and from comical to cultural. Most of my creative output is an introspection into my life or an escape from it. My favorite works are always a marriage of both.
