Patty, who lives (way down) in Kokomo, IN, is a stickler for quality. She’s always on the lookout for finely made items, that also prove to be useful. She found a winner when she purchased one of the leather headrest hooks, made by Chartreuse artist, Albert Straner. Patty’s excited to simply slip the piece over the back of her car seat headrest, and she’s got a convenient place to hang her purse or bagged parcels.

Thank you, Patty, for sharing your story with us.

The attention to detail and superior workmanship made purchasing a headrest hook an easy decision for our customer, Patty.

Local resident, Karen, has been busy this summer redecorating her home here in Southwest Michigan. Instead of jumping online to look for mass-produced items, Karen came into Chartreuse and found pieces that spoke to her heart. Customers, like Karen, know that they’ll always find one-of-a-kind treasures that are actually made by local artists that live right here.

Thank you, Karen, for sharing your story with us!

Karen found a beautiful bowl made by Chartreuse artist Joel Mashke and a painting made by Chartreuse artist Cathy Pampalone.

Michelle, from St. Louis, vacations in St. Joseph annually and likes to bring friends into Chartreuse. (Thanks, Michelle! You rock!) This year, she brought in her college friend, Tina, who’s from Kentucky. Tina took home a beautiful memento of her time in St. Joseph — a print of our iconic St. Joseph Lighthouse by Chartreuse artist, Robin Maxon. May you two ladies always have fond memories of your time in St. Joseph.

Thank you, Michelle and Tina, for sharing your story with us. Hope you come back and see us again next year!

Growing up in the small town of Coloma, Michigan in 1986, Paula had never ventured out to a big city like Chicago. That changed when her then boyfriend took her to the Windy City to see the sights, including LaSalle Street, in the heart of the city’s financial district.

Flash forward to present day, as Paula and her husband celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary! Finding this black and white photograph at Chartreuse, featuring iconic LaSalle Street, was absolute destiny. It’s true that sometimes you’re just in the right place at the right time.

Thank you, Paula, for sharing your story with us!

Paula was thrilled to find the perfect gift for her husband. Photographer, Terry Strayn captured the brilliance of LaSalle Street, in Chicago, perfectly.

Hailing from Grand Rapids, Mindy and Dan make a point of traveling to St. Joseph monthly to see what’s new in the gallery. What a lovely testament to our local artists’ co-op, and what we mean to our customers.

Thank you, Mindy and Dan, for your continued support of Chartreuse! We wouldn’t be here without loyal customers like yourselves.

Mindy and Dan purchased a beautiful bracelet made by jeweler, Molly Moran, and a stained-glass panel made by May Schultz-Reed.
