IG IS NOT ABOVE THE MALE GAZE

In the last week or so, .a.rpodcast content talking about the male gaze has been pulled for “nudity”. Of course, we found this a bit ironic since it’s literally famous art that we are trying to show that is adhering to the male gaze, but gets taken down for “sexuality and nudity” ( literally our point).

So we came up with a solution, we put eyes on the women in these paintings to hold those accountable for sexualizing them and participate in their objectification.

I’ve shared some of my paintings inspired by my OCD struggles, but in the last year or so, I have been really deep into ceramics and ceramic sculpture. I have some more, but I think these are the ones that turned out the best.

My intrusive thoughts are my best friend, my worst enemy, and my greatest inspiration. It’s really terrifying for your mind to forcibly wander into deep and dark places in your mind that you never even knew existed, but I think there is also a beauty in seeing that side of yourself because you know that it doesn’t consume you, it’s just a small part of you.
