Founded in 2010, Heist is the brainchild of Canadian-born freelance writer John Phillips. Originally pegged as a print magazine highlighting the local fashion design scene in downtown Sacramento, the idea quickly moved to music. On one side, Heist books and promotes shows in the area. If anyone is needing to find a place to play in Sacramento, Heist rarely turns down an opportunity to see good live music, so don't hesitate to email: [email protected]. On the other hand, what started as a way to publish John's articles that were unable to find a home, has quickly become a way to promote bands touring through the area; not only reaching fans in the area before they arrive, but everywhere else as well. New features (and possibly new writers...stay tuned :)) on the site are expected Summer 2013.
