Cowtown goes back to school!

Here's some snapshots from our week of performing at the four elementary schools in Eureka, exploring the relationship between farming and the food that kids eat. It's all part of a collaboration with the Eureka City Schools food service department and the North Coast Grower's Association, and each school visit includes a pop up farmers market where families get to take home free food at the end of the day! What a dream! Gratitude to all the folks behind the scenes who helped put these events together, lotsa happy kids learned a lot about farming this week...

⭐️ New show cooking in Cowtown! 🫘 🌿 🌸

Here’s some process pics from the last month, taken while creating a new piece titled Flower Child and the Beanstalk. Created as the edutainment portion of a Farm to School grant awarded to Eureka City Schools and Grow Together Gardens, the show will be performed this week at each of the 4 elementary schools in Eureka. Over 1000 kids will get to see the show! To cap things off, we’ll take the show down to SoHum to the KMUD Block Party on Saturday May 17, where we will perform at 1pm in the kids zone. That’s a lotta show business for one week, yeehaw!

We will share some more documentation of the performances, puppets, and clowning as we gather it. Thanks for stopping by to see what we’re working on, have a great spring! ☀️

Greetings from Cowtown!

We are reflecting on our tour, and the wonderful connections we made with people in Humboldt, Mendocino, Trinity and Lake County. Thank you to everyone who came to a show and connected with us afterwards to share stories and participate in the Puppet Petting Zoo.

We are grateful to the Upstate California Creative Corps for funding this project, and as we finish up our grant report, we'd love to hear from those who saw our puppet show!

If you can, please fill in our survey linked below, and/or comment here to share your thoughts about Tales From Cowtown, a puppet show for all ages.

We'll be setting up the Puppet Stage this Saturday May 25th at the KMUD BLOCK PARTY! Come parade with us, see our show Tales From Cowtown, and participate in our Puppet Petting Zoo!

Meet for the parade @ 11:30 at Redway School, Wahoooo!

Thank you KMUD - Redwood Community Radio, Inc. !!!

KMUD will close some roads in Redway to celebrate, on Saturday, May 25th.  What’s NEW this year is the Memorial Parade, honoring our veterans, which will leave Redway School at 11:30, take Briceland Road to Redwood Drive, pass Shop Smart and end at KMUD by noon.  Those roads will be closed until the parade passes, and Redway Drive in front of KMUD will be closed from 10 am until 10 pm, or possibly as late as midnight.  Please join us for the Parade, live music, kids’ zone and Ninja zone, vendors, CD sale, and great food and drink.
